Accounting Consultant

Our client is a well-known active wear brand seeking an Accounting Consultant to provide hands‑on support for its accounting function. This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly integrate into an existing team, support day‑to‑day execution, and ensure accuracy across core accounting processes.

The consultant will work closely with internal accounting and finance stakeholders, supporting transaction‑level accounting, reconciliations, and close‑related activities. The role requires prior experience within apparel, CPG, retail, or similar product‑based environments and the ability to work onsite daily in the Los Angeles area.

• Support general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end and period‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support inventory‑ and product‑related accounting activities common to apparel businesses.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve transactional issues and data discrepancies.
• Assist with invoice review, coding, and allocation in coordination with Accounts Payable and Accounting teams.
• Maintain documentation and support internal controls and audit‑readiness efforts.
• Navigate and utilize accounting systems and reporting tools to support daily execution and close requirements.
• Provide reliable, hands‑on support during a consulting coverage period with evolving priorities.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
• Prior accounting experience within the apparel, retail, or consumer products industry required.
• Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and close support.
• Experience working in product‑ or inventory‑driven environments.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven setting with changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently.
• Systems proficiency with common accounting platforms; adaptability to new systems required.
• Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work onsite in the West side of LA area daily.
