Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands‑on Controller to own day‑to‑day accounting operations and serve as the primary Net Suite power user for the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, improving systems, and partnering directly with operations in a manufacturing environment.
This is not a CFO or strategic finance role. It is a practical, in‑the‑weeds accounting and systems role.
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Close- Own the monthly close process, including GL, AP/AR, inventory, fixed assets, and accruals
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reports
- Maintain account reconciliations and ensure clean, audit‑ready financials
- Support budgeting and forecasting in partnership with leadership
- Manage inventory accounting, costing, and valuation in a contract manufacturing environment
- Maintain standard costs and support variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead)
- Partner with operations to ensure accurate production and inventory data
- Support margin analysis for private label and custom formulation products
- Serve as day‑to‑day Net Suite administrator and power user
- Maintain chart of accounts, item records, BOMs, and inventory configurations
- Build and maintain Net Suite reports and saved searches for finance and operations
- Troubleshoot system issues and partner with external consultants as needed
- Support ongoing system clean‑up, optimization, and light enhancements
- Maintain GAAP‑compliant accounting practices and internal controls
- Support external audits and tax filings (in coordination with outside partners)
- Document and maintain accounting SOPs and workflows
- Ensure compliance with financial requirements tied to regulated manufacturing
- Work closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership on inventory and cost visibility
- Provide clear, practical financial insights to non‑finance stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement across accounting and reporting processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
, ideally in manufacturing or CPG - Strong hands‑on Net Suite experience (manufacturing and inventory modules preferred)
- Solid understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting fundamentals
- Experience owning or heavily contributing to month‑end close
- Comfortable working in a small, fast‑moving, owner‑operated environment
- Experience in food, supplement, or nutraceutical manufacturing
- Exposure to contract manufacturing or private label business models
- Prior role as Accounting Manager or Controller in a small to mid‑sized company
- CPA or CPA‑track (not required)
- Hands‑on, practical, and execution‑focused
