We are seeking a Property Accounting Manager to join our team! As a Property Accountant, your responsibilities will include preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports, managing payables and receivables for the property company, and processing tax documentation including sales tax and real estate tax. You will review daily banking activity, process cash receipts, and reconcile transactions. The ideal candidate has accounting experience in the real estate industry, exceptional time management skills, and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist with budget preparation and projections
- Oversee daily banking transactions and reconciliation with cash receipts
- Handle all tax payments related to the business, including sales and real estate taxes
- Handle payables and receivables for the company
- Oversee full‑cycle accounting for multiple real estate entities and properties
- Manage AP & AR with proper internal controls
- Oversee CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and reimbursements
- Monitor property‑level cash flow, operating accounts, and reserves
- Perform and review monthly bank reconciliations
- Lead month‑end close and general ledger reconciliation
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Track and monitor loan compliance, covenants, and lender reporting requirements
- Serve as the primary financial liaison to ownership, lenders, and external CPAs
- Support audits, refinances, and lender requests
- Prepare year‑end financials and support tax preparation for CPAs
- Manage payroll processing, tax deposits, quarterly and annual payroll filings (W-2s, W-3s, 1099s/1096s)
- Prepare and file sales tax returns, business licenses, and Form 571‑L
- Provide limited human resources and administrative accounting support as needed
- 5+ years of CRE Accounting Experience in an Accounting Manager or similar senior role
- Strong experience working directly with ownership and CPAs
- Proficiency with accounting software (App Folio, Quick Books, or similar required)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and internal controls
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Desire and ability to grow with the company
- Experience with industrial, retail, or mixed‑use portfolios
- Prior interaction with banks or lenders
- Experience supporting audits or refinances
