PMCS Group, Inc. is currently hiring a Construction Scheduler / Project Scheduler located in Los Angeles, CA. Salary range: $/yr - $/yr
. The role is full‑time and required for a mid‑senior level.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years full‑time paid professional experience in Construction Scheduling for an Owner or General Contractor, preferably on educational facilities or public works projects. Proficiency in Primavera (latest version) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
- OR Graduation from a recognized college/university with a bachelor’s degree in any field, plus an additional 2 years of Construction Scheduling experience to compensate for the required education.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication; superior organizational and planning skills; ability to build efficient working relationships with project teams and department staff; understanding of theories, principles, and practices of cost engineering, scheduling, and schedule forensics.
- Develop and maintain program schedules, identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for construction projects of various types.
- Independently interpret detailed construction drawings (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil) and develop a clear understanding of work scope.
- Review contractor baseline schedule submissions, verify proper identification and logical sequencing, and provide written detailed schedule review comments.
- Perform QA/QC on contractor schedule submittals for conformance with the contract; review critical path, cost loading, resource loading of man‑hours, schedule content, recovery schedules, use of logic relationships and lags, constraints, and milestones.
- Conduct schedule Time Impact Analysis for any change orders that affect the construction schedule; negotiate schedule adjustments with the OAR and contractor for any delay time settlements.
- Determine scope from drawings, understand contract terms and conditions, and assess compensable or non‑compensable time extensions.
- Perform critical path analysis and earned‑value analysis.
- Walk construction sites as needed, review contractor weekly/monthly schedule progress, and report to the project OAR and upper management.
- Communicate effectively with the contractor regarding all schedule/progress matters in weekly status meetings and other schedule‑related meetings.
- Perform program schedule QA/QC reviews on a regular basis.
- Update program schedules/master schedules bi‑monthly.
- Ensure proper use of program‑level standard codes, layouts, and reports to maintain data integrity.
- Serve as a liaison between project teams, department leadership, and the Program & Project Controls department.
- Prepare reports as directed by management.
