HVAC Commercial Estimator

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HVAC ESTIMATOR:

Core Responsibilities:

• Review progress and construction documents for constructability
• Initiates consistent communication with customer, project team and sales team
• Maintains a comprehensive knowledge base of multiple product lines including part numbers, features and pricing
• Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for on-time delivery of customer projects
• Actively reconcile the internal estimates with those prepared by third-parties
• Provide/coordinate full estimating services on large complex projects focusing on Mechanical equipment
• Performing “Quantity Take‑Offs” of materials and labor operations
• Coordinate resources and workload to ensure timely delivery of all proposals
• Ensure bid documents are accurate and complete
• Periodically, assist the project manager with subcontract/vendor negotiations
• Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope
• Review constructability and project execution plans with the preconstruction and project teams
• Ensuring the efficient operation of all systems in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS)
• Interpreting the “Scope of Work” and where necessary, formulate and place Sub‑Contract Enquiries and appraise subsequent responses
• Accurately estimate plan/spec and design/build HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software such as 'Bluebeam , Trimble Autobid Sheet Metal And Mechanical'
• Maintain estimating logs and unit costs for all projects
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships
• Perform site surveys and attend pre-bid walkthroughs
• Interact with the sales and project management teams to insure all projects are performed under budget and according to plans and specifications
• Able to do bid commercial and industrial mechanical projects

• 10 + years of estimating experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record is required
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other construction documents
• Proficiency on all estimating softwares.
• Knowledge of different types of HVAC systems and their components
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough understanding of related trades for the purposes of coordinating various project estimates
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
