At VCI Construction, as an Asphalt Concrete Laborer on our team, you’ll participate in all phases of underground construction, including asphalt raking, asphalt rolling, loading, delivery, digging, and equipment operation.

• Perform construction tasks including asphalt raking, asphalt rolling, loading, delivery, digging, and operating equipment
• Install underground telecommunications cabling
• Operate construction equipment, and maintain work areas
• Clearly communicate with all team members
• Complete daily production reports
• Help with site restoration efforts
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned
• Work independently with coworkers, customers, and others in places where interactions are unsupervised
• Provide accurate and reliable information to others in the company
• Requires a routine amount of driving for work, which must be performed safely
• Requires safe and responsible computer and related technology use

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Previous experience safely operating various hand tools and utility trucks, is preferred
• Operate various utility trucks, equipment, and hand tools safely.
• Perform demanding physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting up to 100 lbs (50 lbs regularly), and working at various heights and angles.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, from extreme heat and cold to inclement weather like wind, rain, and snow.
• Wear standard safety equipment, including a hardhat, safety glasses, and safety boots.
• Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Read prints and interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities.

• Routinely: work at heights, occasional entry into attics and crawl spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery; squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 55 pounds without assistance.
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Asphalt Concrete Laborer is $20.00 - $26.00
