Senior Regional Construction Scheduler (Continuous)

Location: Los Angeles Unified School District, Los Angeles, CA

Pay Range: $/yr – $/yr

Due Date: Continuous until positions are filled

• Reporting directly to the Sr Construction Manager for Scheduling and Estimating and providing updates and preparing reports for upper management in order to meet Key Performance Indicators.
• Supervising Project Schedulers to ensure project timelines are met and interfacing with OARs, Senior Project Managers, and other site staff and contractors related to the review of CPM schedules, preparation of project scope and budget.
• Determining project staffing needs and making recommendations to executive staff to improve staff requirements.
• Developing and maintaining program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for construction projects of various types.
• Independently interpreting and reading detailed construction drawings (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, etc.) and developing a clear understanding of work scope.
• Reviewing Contractor's Baseline schedule submissions and verifying that all work scope is identified properly and logically sequenced correctly; providing written detailed schedule review comments.
• Performing QA/QC on contractor schedule submittals for conformance with contract terms; reviewing critical path, cost loading, resource loading of man‑hours, schedule content, recovery schedules, use of logic relationships and lags, constraints and milestones.
• Performing schedule Time Impact Analysis for any change orders that affect the construction schedule; conducting schedule negotiations with the OAR and the contractor for any delay time settlements.
• Reading drawings to determine if work is in or out of scope, and understanding terms and conditions of the contract to determine if any compensable or non‑compensable time extensions have merit.
• Performing Critical Path analysis and Earned Value analysis.
• Walking the construction sites as needed, checking the contractor's weekly/monthly schedule progress; providing reports to the project OAR and upper management.
• Effectively communicating with the Contractor regarding all schedule/progress related matters and concerns in the weekly status meetings and all other schedule related meetings.
• Performing Program Schedule QA/QC reviews on a regular basis.
• Performing status updates for Program Schedules/Master Schedules on a bi‑monthly basis.
• Preparing reports as needed and directed by Management.

• Minimum eight (8) years full‑time paid professional experience in Construction Scheduling for an Owner or General Contractor, preferably in an educational facility or public works projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera Latest Version and MS Office Suite.

• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or construction management.
• OR Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in any course, but with additional two (2) years of experience in the duties above to compensate for the required education.
