Wet Utility Estimator – Heavy Civil / Public Works
Los Angeles, CA (Southern California)
We’re partnering with a well-established general contractor based in Los Angeles to hire an experienced Estimator to support a strong and growing backlog of municipal and public works projects across Southern California.
This is a great opportunity for an estimator who understands underground utilities and wants to play a key role in winning and pricing complex civil infrastructure work.
What You’ll Be Doing- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Heavy Civil
- Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications
- Analyze labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
- Support bid strategy, value engineering, and risk analysis
- Work closely with operations, project management, and leadership teams
- Assist with bid submissions, pricing reviews, and handoff to operations
- 3–10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
- Experience bidding municipal / public works projects in Southern California
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and bid documents
- Proficiency with estimating software (Heavy Bid, Bid2
Win, or similar preferred) - Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Stable, well-respected Southern California GC with long-term municipal clients
- Collaborative estimating and operations team
