FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week.

These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION

KTTV Fox 11 is looking for a per-diem Technical Operations Center (TOC) operator for our television news operation in West Los Angeles. TOC is a critical technical news production position where all inbound and outbound audio and video signals are processed. As a Freelance (per diem) Ingest Operator, working on this team is a great entry-level experience for those looking to excel in the dynamic industry of live television news.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Tune in live feeds from various sources including LiveU cellular video feeds, satellite, microwave, Zoom, internet streaming, and other platforms. Coordinate with News and Engineering departments to guarantee successful News live shots and ensure proper video feeds are recorded and quality-controlled.

Connect field news personnel and guests to air using Zoom, Face Time, and other streaming applications. Coordinate news IFB communication with field crews.

Communicate over the phone, via email, and via intranet scheduling applications throughout the day to schedule recordings and link guest(s) to air. Utilize the News operation’s NRCS system (Inews) to pull rundowns and gather all necessary information on news gathering efforts.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

High School diploma and 5 years’ experience in an engineering, operations, or other technical role within a TV station.

Experience with Evertz routing systems, LiveU Central, Bit Central, 2

GHZ microwave systems, satellite downlink operations, RTS intercom systems preferred.

Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a driven, team-first attitude

Ability to work a variety of schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
