Role Overview

Promise is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Mid/Senior Unreal Artist to join our dynamic Production team. This role is central to the execution of our cutting-edge Virtual Production (VP) pipeline, focusing on the creation and optimization of real-time environments for our LED volume stage. You will leverage your expert knowledge of Unreal Engine to deliver high-quality, final-pixel assets, while also driving the exploration and integration of Generative AI workflows for rapid environment and asset iteration.

The ideal candidate is an innovative artist and technician who can seamlessly bridge traditional artistic standards with revolutionary GenAI technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Virtual Production (VP) Environment & LED Content

    • Real-Time Environment Creation: Design, build, light, and optimize complex real-time environments and assets within Unreal Engine for use on set in our LED volume.

      • Ensure all environments and assets meet the demanding quality, performance, and stability requirements for in-camera VP shoots.

      • Develop high-fidelity, real-time lighting solutions that align with the Director of Photography’s creative vision.

    • LED Wall Content Compliance: Master scene optimization and performance tuning specifically for large format LED displays and N-display setups.

      • Work closely with the VP team to manage scene budgets, texture streaming, and culling to ensure ultra-low latency and perfect synchronization for live shooting.

  • Generative AI Workflow Integration

    • AI Pipeline Development: Actively research, test, and integrate emerging Generative AI tools (e.g., text-to-3D, image-to-3D, material/texture generators) directly into the Unreal Engine asset creation pipeline.

      • Develop and implement efficient workflows for cleaning up, optimizing, and retopologizing AI-generated assets to meet production quality and performance standards.

      • Advise on the best practices for leveraging AI tools (like those integrated with Comfy

        UI or similar node-based systems) to accelerate environment prototyping and iteration.

    • Asset Management: Establish clear processes for integrating AI-generated geometry, P  materials, and optimized LODs into the Content Browser.

  • Technical Art & Asset Pipeline

    • Asset Creation & Optimization: Model, texture, and integrate high-fidelity 3D assets, ensuring they adhere to P  standards and are optimized for real-time rendering.

    • Shader Development: Develop and maintain advanced materials, shaders, and Blueprints to support complex visual effects and dynamic environment features, utilizing features like Nanite and Lumen to their fullest potential.

  • Qualifications
    • 5+ years of professional experience in real-time content creation for film, television, or high-end visualization.

    • Expert-level proficiency with Unreal Engine (UE5+) in a production environment, specifically focused on Virtual Production.

    • Demonstrable portfolio showcasing exceptional real-time environment art, lighting, and composition optimized for in-camera VFX (ICVFX).

    • Deep practical understanding of the Virtual Production pipeline
      , including camera tracking systems (e.g., Mo-Sys, Stype), color management (ACES), and LED volume technology.
