CBS LA is looking for a producer passionate about finding and telling memorable stories around Southern California across all platforms. Curiosity and creativity should drive the production of content on digital, social media channels, TV, and the CBS News Los Angeles stream. The nation’s largest duopoly, the CBS Owned & Operated stations in Los Angeles, is looking for a Multi-Platform Journalist.

The Multi-Platform Journalist needs a proven understanding of publishing across platforms. The Multi-Platform Journalist will pitch and be assigned stories to shoot on-location, write, and edit, producing natively for the platform on which the story appears. Excellent writing and a strong shooting and editing of multi-platform content is a must. The Multi-Platform Journalist may appear on camera in social media and/or digital versions of stories.

• Original content production on various social media, including Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook
• Digital publishing, SEO optimization, and AP-style writing
• Proficiency in photography and editing
• Broadcast news writing experience
• Strong understanding of journalism ethics
• Generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings
• Strong people skills.
• Other duties as assigned

• College Degree Required or Equivalent Experience
• Experience producing original video and graphics for various social media platforms
• Must have good communication skills, and ability to work in fast paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality standards in every aspect of news production
• Availability to work weekend, morning, and evening shifts

• Newsroom or TV experience a plus

$86,000.. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to…
