Position Summary: To assist in the coordination and operation of Dental Clinic sessions under the direct supervision of the Dental Director and Dental Supervisor, to ensure the delivery of quality services to patients. Adhere to Clinica Romero's mission and core values:

- Works in conjunction with Dental supervisor and Dental Director providing quality care to patients.
- Assists in coordinating patient flow.
- Ensures that the dental department is properly stocked and cleaned.
- Records in the sterilizing log every time instruments are sterilized, records daily suction lines, water lines, chairside trap logs. Reports to Dental Manager when autoclave is not working properly or when a positive spore test is received.
- Cleans, sterilizes, and assembles instruments, supplies and equipment required during specific dental procedures.
- Prepares patients for oral surgery and other dental treatments, assists in dental treatment of patients, providing dentist with instruments and equipment necessary during treatment.
- Takes vital signs on patients when necessary.
- Take digital oral x-rays for diagnosis and treatment.
- Records treatment results on patient's dental record; instructs patients in the care of teeth, provides instructional materials as required.
- Uses current MIS system.
- Verifies patient insurance coverages through web portals to ensure appropriate eligibility prior to scheduling appointments for new and established patients.
- Uses text messaging or WELL Health app to monitor all incoming messages to the dental department, responding timely to appointment requests, closing patient channels if no follow up is required, and routing messages to other departments as needed.
- Dental Assistant Diploma and X-Ray certification required.
- CPR certification.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a busy environment.
- Customer service skills: communication, empathy, patience, and technical knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written; work without close supervision, detail oriented, and well organized.
