Senior Designer, OBM Architecture Studio

Experience: 4+ years professional design experience.

Orange Barrel Media creates and operates iconic urban media in 26 of the top markets in the U.S. Our commitment to innovation has differentiated OBM as a leader in the Out-of-Home industry. OBM has established itself as the leader in architecturally significant media design. OBM’s Real Estate Development team includes an in-house architecture team which designs signs in-house, and in partnership with prominent artists and architects.

The Senior Designer will design memorable media displays and advocate for them through the approvals process. Each project is unique and will require the Senior Designer to provide several potential concepts. The Designer will prepare high-quality deliverables to communicate the design intent to multiple audiences including property owners and city staff. Atmosphere is fast-paced, and each day includes both independent and collaborative work.

• Design exceptional media displays which reflect context, property owner, and city preferences.
• Study sites and downtown neighborhoods to identify opportunities for sign placement.
• Research each site and market to identify opportunities for a design solution to align with city priorities and provide community benefits.
• Develop polished presentation materials. Advocate for design in verbal and graphic presentations.
• Coordinate with internal teams on design approval and execution.

• B.Arch, or M.Arch.
• Strong design portfolio.
• Proficient in modeling and rendering software. Programs used include Rhino, Twinmotion, Key Shot, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Passionate about contemporary architecture, art, and urban environments.
• Able to combine visual and written elements to tell a compelling story. Able to write and speak persuasively about design without jargon.
• Candidate should have the enthusiasm and resilience needed to develop multiple solutions for public-facing projects.
• Candidate must be able to travel periodically and thrive in an entrepreneurial culture.
