Designer- Environmental Graphic Design

RIOS is an international design collective. We are actively in pursuit of wonder within the design of the built environment. We believe design is an act of optimism through which invention and ideas change the world. We practice interconnected design across architecture, placemaking, and landscape architecture to define design as a continuum.

We are seeking a highly creative, self-motivated Designer to join our Experience Design team located in the Boulder office. The candidate will support the team in all phases of a project, including programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and documentation.

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
• Strong typography, layout, and visual storytelling skills
• 3D rendering skills in Rhino or similar software are a strong plus
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
• Ability to produce design intent drawings, including fabrication methods and material specifications
• Solid understanding of construction terminology and fabrication processes
• Knowledge of ADA compliance and relevant building codes related to experiential graphic design, signage, and way finding
• Experience with construction administration, including shop drawing reviews, punch walks is a plus
• Familiarity with Sign Agent is a plus
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills

Requirements

• A minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in experiential graphic design, signage and way finding, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Experience Design, Architecture, or a related field
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
• Must be available to work in person three days per week
