About This RoleCWC West Valley (CWC WV) teachers are driven educators who thrive in our innovative charter school environment. They deliver high-quality, engaging instruction grounded in constructivism, project-based learning, and multiple intelligences theory. Our collaborative environment supports teacher growth while providing excellent education. Our Lead Teachers work alongside a Teaching Associate for behavior and instructional support.
Key Responsibilities- Design and refine curriculum maps, lessons, and units of study that meet or exceeds Common Core Standards while incorporating multiple intelligences
- Assess student progress and achievement using diverse methods and data collection
- Differentiate instruction to ensure grade-level or above performance
- Build strong classroom culture through CWC’s social-emotional learning while contributing to the broader school community
- Create a joyful, caring classroom environment focused on community building and conflict resolution
- Empower students to be peacemakers and agents for positive social change
- Participate in internal and external professional development
- Maintain active communication and engagement with colleagues, families, and school stakeholders
- Contribute to school community and mission advancement
- Mentor and collaborate with Teaching Associate (select grades)
- California multiple subject teaching credential or applicable single subject credential
- CLAD or BCLAD certification
- Successful completion of CBEST or Basic Skills Requirement
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in relevant grade
- Experience working within a socio-economic, racial, and culturally diverse classroom setting and student populations
- Strong group instruction and management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with children in a caring and respectful manner
- Curriculum development and adaptation
- Classroom management and culture building
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Social-emotional learning integration
- Community building and conflict resolution
- Fluency in a second language (ideally Spanish or Korean)
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, maturity, humility, and sense of humor
- Commitment to a social-emotional learning classroom as the foundation of the culture
- Belief in all student’s ability to achieve at high levels
- Excellence in written and verbal communication and effective utilize skills with a diverse audience
- Experience in ELL and special needs students
- Enthusiasm for innovative teaching methods and effective practices
- Ability to adapt and implement CWC’s educational model
