- Assist in collecting and analyzing statistics, doing research, and making investigations and special studies in a variety of occupational fields.
- Assist in the preparation of reports.
- Assist in the preparation of press and radio releases.
- Assist in the administration of psychological and other tests to patients.
- Assist in the performance of laboratory tests and analysis.
- Assist in group supervision and training of juvenile wards of the courts.
- Assist in identifying and cataloging birds, mammals, and fossils.
- Assist in processing writs and judgments, filing legal documents, and making entries of legal action.
- Assist in work related to the administration of manpower programs for the disadvantaged.
- Act as guide for student tours of County departments.
- Do related clerical work as required.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college with academic standing equivalent to sophomore, junior, or senior year.
- Proof of academic standing (official or unofficial transcripts or verification letter).
- Proof of current enrollment (current class schedule, letter from school, student , or transcripts).
- Applicants must remain enrolled and attend school to maintain status in the position.
Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job‑related essential functions.
Physical ExpectationsLight:
Administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort, occasional light lifting up to 10 lb, bending, stooping, or squatting, with considerable ambulation.
The County will invite qualified candidates to take a multiple‑choice and/or simulation assessment weighted 100% covering Learning Potential, Responsibility, Customer Focus, and Working with Information.
Applicants who have taken identical components recently for other exams may have their scores automatically transferred.
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements and achieve a passing score of 70% or higher to be placed on the eligible register.
Multiple‑choice and/or simulation assessments are not reviewable by candidates per Civil Service Rule 7.19.
