Assistant Chinese Preschool Teacher – Purple Magpie Mandarin

The Assistant Chinese Preschool Teacher will support Lead Teachers in delivering a safe, engaging, Mandarin‑immersed learning environment for preschoolers at Purple Magpie Mandarin, a Chinese‑immersion daycare and preschool located in West Los Angeles.

• Pay range: $18.00 – $30.00 per hour (base pay range)

• Provide a safe and loving environment for all students.
• Assist with daily activities such as art, crafts, reading, dancing, singing, STEM experiments, and other play‑based learning experiences under the guidance of a Lead Teacher.
• Monitor children’s safety and supervise during transitions and outdoor play.
• Prepare and serve meals, support children during eating, and manage diaper changes.
• Clean and sterilize classroom equipment and surfaces.
• Perform other duties related to caregiving and classroom support as directed.

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (Required).
• 1+ year of relevant teaching or childcare experience (Preferred).
• Collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn.
• Proactive in seeking professional development resources.
• Enjoy working with children and able to create a joyful learning environment.
• Knowledge of infant early learning, development, and group care settings; familiarity with current research, regulations, and best practices (Preferred).
• Understanding of Reggio, RIE, and Montessori approaches (Bonus).
• Physical capability to lift children up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and meet the demands of a preschool setting.
• Maintain mental and physical alertness and respond promptly to emergencies, following state, federal, and local health and safety requirements.
• Meet immunization and health screening requirements.
