Job DescriptionThe Senior Project Engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide support and assistance to the project team, stepping into senior roles such as running design or construction meetings, conducting field checks, and preparing written and photographic materials. The role coordinates with the Design Team for conformance review and handles requests for information, submittals, and construction change documents. The Senior Project Engineer also maintains project files in both electronic and paper format.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to evaluate and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Obtain and maintain data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements among owners, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate Design Team conformance reviews and provide timely, accurate responses to requests for information, submittals, and construction change documents.
- Maintain document and project controls systems and procedures, monitoring compliance.
- Participate in project meetings, documenting, administering, and tracking relevant information and status updates.
- Conduct field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration, addition, or repair projects to verify compliance with job specifications, plans, campus standards, and Division of State Architect (DSA) requirements for multiple campus projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, project management, or equivalent technical discipline.
- Seven (7) years of experience in project or construction management of commercial and/or public or educational facility construction projects.
- Experience on educational program projects is preferred.
- Experience on Division of State Architect (DSA) projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, cost management, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering and construction principles, and techniques.
- Basic understanding of accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interactions in professional settings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project‑related systems such as Primavera and e‑Builder.
- Professional demeanor that represents Vanir and related entities in a professional manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Professional Engineer in Training (EIT), Certified Construction Manager in Training (CMIT), or similar credential preferred.
Salary range: $85,000.00 – $.
