Minimum Requirements
  • Seven (7) years full‑time paid experience managing environmental investigations and remediation under the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) or comparable regulatory agency.
  • Proficiency in site investigation, remedial strategies, and federal, state and local environmental regulations, including DTSC, Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) protocols.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • California Professional Registration (Certified Hydrogeologist, Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist).
Duties
  • Review and coordinate work of environmental site assessment Master Services Agreement contractors in areas such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, Soils Disposition Evaluation, Soils Evaluations for SCAQMD Rule 1466, Health/Safety Risk Assessment, Preliminary Environmental Assessment, Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study, Public Participation Plan, Removal Action/Remedial Action Plans, and Polychlorinated Biphenyl survey and mitigation.
  • Assist in contract development and oversight of remediation contractors.
  • Establish and maintain project budgets, including contract management and scheduling for environmental investigations and remediation.
  • Provide technical advice to Office of Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) Management regarding contractor budget and schedule control.
  • Prepare and coordinate the environmental review process for individual projects with the Facilities Services Division, covering project scheduling, budgeting, design and construction, emergency response, waste disposal, and demolition.
