We seek a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of HVAC and plumbing systems for data centers and associated facilities.
The OpportunityIn this role, you will lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of facilities, with a primary focus on Hyper Scale and colocation data center environments. You will handle design, construction support, renewable energy and sustainability studies, and 3‑D airflow CFD modeling.
- Design and construction activities, including Design‑Bid‑Build and Alternative Conceptual‑Bid‑Build delivery methods.
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for administrative and support spaces in Hyper Scale and colocation data centers.
- Support additional areas such as administrative, warehouse, maintenance, laboratory, chemical storage, electrical distribution, low/medium voltage switch gear, pump areas, engine generators, blowers and flammable/liquid storage.
- Conduct data‑center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces.
- Perform energy audit/efficiency studies, code reviews and apply sustainable design practices and LEED strategies.
- Develop engineering skills while working on challenging projects.

Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Previous experience in data‑center/mission‑critical design.
- Experience with construction support.
- Understanding of design differences in Hyper‑scale, edge, and colocation data centers.
- Familiarity with data‑center tier rating systems.
- Strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
- Data‑center airflow CFD modeling experience (internal and external).
- Computer‑generated HVAC cooling/heating load calculations.
- HVAC system energy modeling and energy code expertise.
- Green building experience, e.g., LEED.
- Technical submittal and bid‑review process for large‑scale water and air‑cooled chiller plants.
- Knowledge of ICC, ASHRAE Handbooks, ASPE design handbooks, SMACNA, and NFPA standards.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience with Cadence Reality Data Center Design (Formerly 6
Sigma Room).
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience; minimum five years of related work experience. Ability to complete pre‑employment background checks, drug screening, and motor‑vehicle‑record requirements. Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.

Work Environment and Schedule- Typical office environment with prolonged computer use.
- Periodically required physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, standing, and walking.
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion and performance.
