OverviewCould you be the full-time onsite EHS Advisor - Rail Operations in Los Angeles, CA, US we’re looking for? Take on an environmental, health, and safety (EHS) role in a cutting-edge field and work with collaborative and innovative teammates.
Responsibilities- Lead all EHS efforts related to transportation and mainline passenger service operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including FRA, FTA, CPUC, OSHA, and EPA.
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs, policies, and procedures aligned with 49 CFR 200–299 and industry best practices.
- Conduct hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Collaborate with operations, equipment, and training teams to address safety concerns and integrate EHS into operational planning.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; develop and track corrective actions.
- Provide EHS training and guidance to staff and contractors.
- Maintain records and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Support the development of annual EHS scope, schedules, and budgets.

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Transportation, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of transportation experience, with at least 8 years in the railroad industry.
- Minimum 5 years in an EHS role within transportation or rail.
- Deep understanding of 49 CFR 200–299, particularly safety-related sections.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present to Senior Metrolink Leadership and public stakeholder groups.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills across departments and labor crafts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
- Knowledge of new technologies to improve safety, efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Subject matter expertise in railroad safety, hazard analysis, and regulatory compliance.
