Design Manager III

Overview

Design Manager III role at Cordoba Corporation. This position supports the Facilities Sector and involves collaborating with clients and stakeholders to develop business cases for potential initiatives. Requires extensive experience in managing complex building and infrastructure designs, with a strong background in aviation projects.

Location:

Los Angeles, CA. This role is 100 percent onsite.

• Manage a multi-disciplined team of planners, architects, engineers, and other professionals to guide the planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and activation of various airport capital improvement projects
• Coordinate with Clients & Stakeholders to develop a Business Case for potential Capital Projects
• Develop and present preliminary design alternatives and comparative analysis to address requests and/or concerns from LAWA leadership and/or project stakeholders throughout the planning & design process
• Review planning & design submittals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to the applicable project requirements, and provide meaningful & constructive feedback to the planning & design team, including conformance to codes, regulations, standards, and owner requirements
• Solicit feedback from internal and external project stakeholders, and guide design teams through competing interests and project constraints to ensure quality, cost, schedule, sustainability, resiliency, innovation, user-experience, constructability, and operational flexibility
• Manage planning & design efforts throughout all stages of a project (Project Definition, Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration) to ensure projects fulfill their mission on schedule and on budget
• Facilitate smooth transitions as projects advance from planning through design, procurement, construction, and activation
• Manage design efforts across multiple projects to ensure a cohesive architectural statement and user-experience throughout the LAX campus

• Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities, and infrastructure improvements, preferably on large airport capital projects
• Design management experience on complex aviation improvements
• Experience in managing a team of design professionals
• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
• A licensed Architect or Engineer is desirable but not required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Power
  
  BI)
• Familiarity with planning & design software (Auto Desk, Sketch Up, etc.)

Salary range: $140,000 to $158,000 per year.
