Overview

As the Aerospace
Supplier Quality Engineer
, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing supplier quality standards and ensuring the delivery of top-notch aerospace products. In this role you will work on-site at our Sylmar, CA facility, collaborate with various teams, and report directly to the Supplier Quality Manager.

• Manage an Approved Supplier List (ASL) through on-site audits and supplier qualification

• Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace regulations, customer-specific requirements, and industry standards

• Perform supplier assessments and production readiness assessments to identify and mitigate supply chain risks

• Mentor suppliers in Continuous Improvement Management principles to optimize the supply chain

• Conduct value stream and capacity analyses, proposing process improvements

• Support New Product Introduction by ensuring supplier capacity and capability

• Investigate supplier non-conformances and drive corrective actions by issuing SCARs to maintain a reliable and high-quality supply chain

• Analyze supplier SCAR metrics to identify trends and root causes of systemic issues

• Maintain open communication with suppliers, providing feedback on performance and addressing any quality concerns or issues

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure that high-quality parts and services meet all requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field (Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, etc.)

• 3+ years of related Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Engineering experience

• QMS Internal Auditor Certification preferred

• Lead Auditor Certification (ex. AS9100, ISO
  9001, IATF
  16949) preferred

• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Experience preferred

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time

• The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000.
