Solar Panel/Array Process Manufacturing Engineer (Experienced or Senior)
Join us at Boeing in Sylmar, CA, to drive innovation in solar power manufacturing. This role will focus on developing production processes for high‑efficiency solar cells and panels used in space and terrestrial applications.
Position Responsibilities- Develop and implement production processes, generating and maintaining process documentation.
- Analyze design/build concepts to evaluate producibility.
- Participate in gated process/product reviews, presenting PFMECA and readiness information.
- Lead and implement manufacturing plans and develop training requirements.
- Define required tooling methodologies for consistent application.
- Conduct producibility and variation analyses to match process capability to requirements.
- Provide producibility data for project plans and document best practices.
- Identify leading‑edge technologies, materials, or process improvements for automation, ergonomics, safety, cost, and schedule.
- Develop and monitor SPC and process Pareto charts to detect drift and implement continuous improvements.
- Resolve significant technical problems impacting performance, cost, or schedule.
This position requires compliance with 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. A “US Person” (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is mandatory.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering.
- 1+ years of experience in assembly or mechanical work.
- 5+ years related work experience or equivalent education/experience.
- General Array Integration and Test operations support.
- Experience maintaining production procedures and documentation.
- Experience leading or participating in LEAN events (AIW, 3P, etc.).
- Experience with Factory Automation, machine tool integration, and/or fabrication.
- Experience leading RCCA investigations.
- Database design/development (SQL preferred).
- Process trainer experience (maintain training records).
- Familiarity with AS9100, NASA, AIAA, and other aerospace standards.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting and resolving process, test, and software issues.

Pay & BenefitsCompetitive base pay and variable compensation. Pay ranges:
Experienced $105,400 – $142,600;
Senior $129,200 – $174,800.
