Senior Manufacturing Automated Test Design Engineer

Silvus Stream Caster® radios are adopted worldwide by U.S. Departments of Defense, federal, state and local agencies, the Super Bowl, Grammys and leading drone, robot and unmanned system manufacturers.
We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Automated Test Design Engineer who will report to the Vice President of Engineering on the Engineering team. This fully on‑site role at our West Los Angeles headquarters requires Monday‑through‑Friday availability.
Role And Responsibilities- Design and implement comprehensive test plans to provide full coverage of wireless communication system feature sets.
- Design and implement logging and log analysis tools to capture performance of systems under test and the test infrastructure.
- Take ownership of production test station design, implementation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade; continuously improve manufacturing test efficiency.
- Collaborate with RF and systems engineering teams to understand performance requirements and establish production tests and performance thresholds.
- Partner with engineering and quality teams to validate new testing approaches for rollout to production.
- Work closely with software development to augment production test systems to support rollout of new features and product configurations.
- Perform basic manufacturing failure troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for production failures escalated to engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Minimum five years of relevant test engineering experience.
- Experience in wireless/networking or an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (C/C++ or Python).
- Proficiency with RF instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, including running multiple tests simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable about automatic test equipment (ATE) implementations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to client U.S. government contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a background check.
- Programming with APIs for test instruments.
- Programming and scripting in Linux OS.
- Shell scripting such as BASH.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.
- Physical tasks may include lifting equipment up to 20 lbs, bending and reaching, kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves, and walking/moving in the labs.
California Pay Range $120,000 – $170,000 USD. Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
