Our client is seeking a Mechanical AI&T Engineer to join their team.
Key Job Responsibilities- Generate detailed designs via CAD systems and engineering drawings with appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Support space hardware qualification/acceptance campaigns.
- Deliver well‑written test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Design test fixtures.
- Assembly and build of test/flight hardware.
- Develop space hardware assembly build procedures.
- Perform mechanical builds of prototype or space hardware.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and a strong ability to collaborate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience with Siemens NX (including NX Teamcenter and GD&T per ASME Y14.5).
- 3+ years of experience in space hardware assembly, integration, and test.
- Familiarity with mechanical test instrumentation (thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, etc.).
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly, typical assembly tools, and space hardware build best practices.
- Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Structural, or Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Track record of successfully delivering compelling written reports and complete designs on time, to scope, with high quality.
- 5+ years of experience with Siemens NX (including NX Teamcenter and GD&T per ASME Y14.5).
- 5+ years of experience in space hardware assembly, integration, and test.
- Space hardware thermal vacuum test experience.
- Space hardware vibration test experience.
- Solid understanding of design for manufacturing methods.
- Data analysis/processing capabilities.
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experienced with issue tracking applications (JIRA, TRAC).
- Demonstrated experience working with government agencies.
