Engineer II, R&D

Job Overview

Support development of medical device products with work including writing or verifying specifications, designing new products and fixtures, testing processes and equipment, and specifying raw materials to ensure that concepts and prototypes meet their requirements.

• Develop new product concepts and products.
• Provide engineering design and process development.
• Generate intellectual property and write invention disclosures.
• Supervise Assemblers, Technicians, and Specialists.
• Be largely self‑directed, capable of meeting project goals with moderate supervision.
• Travel as required.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Scientific field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and CAD (Solid Works or Pro/E proficiency required).
• Advanced degree in Engineering or a Scientific field.
• Design and development experience with medical devices.
• Ability to read and prepare technical documentation.
• Knowledge of standard machine‑shop equipment, processes, and medical‑device manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of medical‑device and technical development.
• Working knowledge of materials used in the medical device industry.
• Experience from an engineering internship or rotation program (preferred).
• One (1) year of manufacturing experience (preferred).

$75,937 - $99,667

Financial compensation packages may be higher or lower than what is listed, and will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
