Sikand Engineering is a Los Angeles based civil engineering firm supporting public and private development throughout Southern California. Our work spans early planning and entitlement support through design and construction, and we partner closely with clients, agencies, and project teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions.
RoleWe are hiring an entry level Associate Engineer to support our civil engineering team on a variety of land development and infrastructure projects. This is a growth role with direct mentorship from senior engineers and project managers, exposure to real project delivery, and a clear path to increasing responsibility.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Associate Engineer, you will assist with tasks that may include:
- Support civil design tasks for land development projects, including grading and drainage concepts and plan production
- Assist with preparation of calculations, exhibits, and technical documentation
- Help assemble agency submittal packages and respond to plan check comments with guidance from senior staff
- Coordinate with internal teams and outside partners, including survey and other disciplines
- Participate in project meetings and assist with notes, follow ups, and action item tracking
- Support construction phase services as needed, which may include construction surveying coordination and field support depending on project needs
- Maintain organized project files and follow quality control procedures
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- EIT certificate preferred, or plan to obtain within 12 months
- Working knowledge of basic civil engineering principles related to site development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a deadline environment
Preferred qualifications
- Internship or project experience in land development, grading, drainage, or municipal infrastructure
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with Southern California agency processes and entitlement workflows
- Interest in construction support and coordination with survey teams
- Mentorship and training from experienced engineers and project managers
- Exposure to the full project lifecycle from early planning through construction
