Professional Land Surveyor – Survey Department Lead
Orange, CA
An established civil engineering and land surveying firm in Southern California is seeking a California-licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead surveying projects and help grow its survey department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveyor ready to advance into a leadership role.
Responsibilities- Lead complex boundary analysis, mapping, and resolution of surveying issues.
- Manage projects from start to finish, including budgets, schedules, quality, and profitability.
- Prepare and oversee subdivision maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, records of survey, topographic surveys, legal descriptions, and lot line adjustments.
- Supervise field crews and coordinate with project managers and technical staff.
- Direct construction staking, calculations, and as-built surveys.
- Develop client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional land surveying experience.
- Strong knowledge of boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, construction staking, and mapping procedures.
- Proven ability to manage projects, solve complex surveying challenges, and lead technical teams.
- Valid driver's license and strong communication and organizational skills.
