Position: Live Action Producer (Contract)

Los Angeles | $80,000 - $100,000 | Freelance, office-based role

A Live Action Producer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production of live-action content, including film, television, and commercial projects. The Live Action Producer works closely with the Director, Writer, and other creative staff to ensure that the vision for the project is realized within budget and on schedule. The Live Action Producer also manages the logistics of the production, including hiring crew and cast, securing locations, and coordinating with post-production teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop and implement a production plan that meets the project's objectives within budget and on schedule.
  • Oversee all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production to ensure that the project meets all creative, technical, and financial goals.
  • Hire and manage a production crew, including casting talent and negotiating contracts with key personnel.
  • Secure locations and negotiate permits and releases as needed.
  • Manage production schedules and budgets, and report progress to the executive producer.
  • Oversee the work of the production team and ensure that all aspects of the production are delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Work with post-production teams to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Address production-related issues and problems as they arise, and work with the creative team to find solutions.
  • Ensure that the production adheres to all safety, legal, and ethical standards.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Production or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in live-action production, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of live-action production, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Experience managing a production team, including hiring and supervising personnel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with creative and technical staff.
  • Proficient in production management software such as Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling.
  • Familiarity with union contracts and regulations.
  • Willingness to work long hours and to travel as required.
