Controller job at The HT Group. Los Angeles, CA. The HT Group is currently partnering with an LA-based E‑Commerce/Consumer Products entity in the search for a qualified Controller for an immediate opportunity.

This individual will be responsible for managing the day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role will lead a high‑performing finance team and collaborate closely with executive leadership, FP&A, and external auditors. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with deep technical accounting knowledge, strong team management skills, and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset.

• Team Leadership
  :
  Manage and mentor the accounting team, including AP, AR, Tax & Treasury, and Payroll.
• Financial Reporting
  :
  Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Internal Controls & Compliance
  :
  Maintain and enhance internal control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Audit & Tax Coordination
  :
  Lead annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Cash & Treasury Management
  :
  Oversee cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury operations.
• Process Optimization
  :
  Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  :
  Partner with FP&A, Operations, HR, and other departments for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
• Systems & Tools
  :
  Ensure the integrity of financial systems and support ERP and accounting software implementation.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Accounting, Finance or related field required; MBA is highly preferred.
• CPA or CFA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
• Experience managing AP, AR, Tax, Treasury, and Payroll functions.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Experience with large‑scale ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence at all levels of the organization.
• Experience in consumer products, retail, or e‑commerce industries preferred.

Direct Hire – Hybrid – LA/South Bay Vicinity – Up to $175K base + bonus DOE.
