SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT

Seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. We offer tax and financial planning services and our office is located on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, California. Our business focus is on delivering professional and proactive tax and financial planning services to each of our clients. We seek a highly-motivated candidate looking to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to grow with the firm.

Our aim is to develop each professional into a solid tax and financial planning advisor who will work to strengthen our existing client relationships and help manage new business.

Job Description:

• Prepare S-corporation, LLC, trust, gift, tax-exempt organization and individual tax returns
• Assume tax preparation responsibility for more complex business returns
• Review individual and LLC tax returns, 1099s, business license renewals, etc.
• Assist in quarterly and annual income tax planning for individuals and pass-thru business entities
• Identify and resolve complex tax issues and respond to IRS/FTB Notices with minimal supervision
• Prepare/Track Existing ISO and NQSO schedules to track basis and for planning purposes
• Prepare multi-state returns with income sourcing/allocations
• Perform tax research projects accurately and efficiently
• Communicate clearly and succinctly with clients via telephone and email
• Maintain continuing education requirements focusing on specific areas of taxation and planning that are of particular interest in you
• Assist in administrative duties as required
• Be proactive in helping the firm become more efficient in all areas
• Show initiative, self-monitor client projects/tax deadlines, and work as a team player at all levels

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
• 4+ years of prior work experience with a public accounting firm in taxation is required
• Licensed CPA is required
• Must be detail-oriented with strong work-paper technique
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in technical income tax areas focused on Trust (Form 1041), Gift, S-corporation, LLCs and multi-state individual taxation
• Experience in taxation issues related to high net worth individuals and families, real estate investors, executive stock options, tax-exempt organizations and owners of closely-held businesses is preferred
• Experience with taxation software including Lacerte and BNA 50-State Income Tax Planner software is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Word and Excel is required
• Overtime and Saturday availability during various income tax deadlines is essential
