The Billing Specialist supports the Revenue Cycle Operations function by managing client invoicing and work-in-process (WIP) for a portfolio of partners. This role requires a balance of detailed execution and ownership of the overall billing lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full WIP lifecycle for assigned partners, from review through final client invoicing
- Preparing, processing, and issuing accurate and timely bills in accordance with client agreements and internal guidelines
- Monitoring WIP inventory and proactively addressing issues that may impact billing timelines
- Developing strong working relationships with partners, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Gaining a deep understanding of assigned partners’ billing preferences, client requirements, and service expectations
- Serving as a primary point of contact for billing-related inquiries and providing clear, timely updates
- Leading billing issue resolution by coordinating with appropriate teams and developing effective solutions
- Maintaining detailed documentation of billing status, open items, and action plans
- Analyzing WIP and billing data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
- Recommending enhancements to billing workflows, processes, and systems
- Providing support and backup to colleagues as needed
- Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, required
- Strong aptitude for learning new systems and technologies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, SUMIF, and pivot tables, preferred
- Strong client service mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with strong problem-solving ability
- Persistent follow-through and ability to manage issues to resolution
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- High level of accountability, ownership, and sound professional judgment
