POSITION OVERVIEWThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of YWCA GLA’s Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and oversight of the organization’s financial operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO oversees financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reporting, cash management, compliance, audit, investments, and risk management to ensure the organization’s long-term financial health and sustainability.
In addition to financial leadership, the CFO provides strategic oversight of YWCA GLA’s facilities and real estate portfolio, including owned and leased properties. The CFO serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, providing clear financial analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and helping translate organizational priorities into sustainable financial strategies.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support YWCA GLA’s mission, goals, and long-term sustainability.
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including long-term forecasting and financial modeling.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team to support strategic decision-making.
- Serve as a strategic financial partner to organizational leaders and provide staff support to the Board Finance and Investment Committee.
Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Reporting
- Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify variances, trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
Cash Flow, Payroll and Financial Operations
- Manage organizational cash flow and banking relationships to ensure adequate liquidity and strengthen the organization’s financial position.
- Oversee payroll, purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and the financial aspects of legal and contractual matters.
- Streamline financial operations, systems, and technology to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee the annual independent audit process and ensure audit findings and recommendations are appropriately addressed.
- Oversee organizational investments and relationships with investment managers, ensuring compliance with Board-approved policies and appropriate reporting.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify and mitigate financial and organizational risks and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Oversee systems for grant tracking and financial compliance.

- Review and maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the organization.
