Barber

The prestigious Jonathan Club, located in downtown Los Angeles, is seeking a barber to take over a barbershop being vacated by a long-term barber who plans to retire soon. This position requires a seasoned professional with credible experience who can provide services to a similar clientele.

Our shop is a single-barber operation with the potential to grow into a two-barber operation. The new barber must be willing to learn the specifics from the outgoing barber and work closely with him during a transition period. You must have a current license to cut hair and have completed all standard barber training and certifications. While we focus on all hairstyles, you should be especially comfortable with the gentleman style haircut.

Strong communication and customer service skills are essential; we want all of our members and guests to enjoy their time in our barbershop and leave satisfied with their haircut so that they continue to be regular users.

• Greet members and guests by name as you become acquainted with them upon arrival.
• Prepare clients for their haircut by discussing their preferences and asking what type of styling they desire.
• Cut and style clients' hair according to their specifications.
• Engage in friendly and relevant conversations with members.
• Keep the barbershop tools and equipment clean, sanitized, and well-maintained.
• Ensure you have the appropriate products in stock for upcoming clients.

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Barber or hairstylist license

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour + Commission
