Cedars‑Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. Primary shift is 12‑hour days, non‑exempt, with a base pay range of $40.82 – $63.27.

Join Cedars‑Sinai’s Respiratory Therapy team, a recognized leader in patient care and nursing excellence. As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will provide critical care and support across general wards and specialized units, ensuring the highest standard of respiratory care for our patients.

• Perform general ward therapy procedures such as O₂ therapy, bland aerosol therapy, medicinal aerosol therapy, volume expansion therapy, bronchial hygiene procedures, and CPR.
• Administer adult critical care RT procedures, including setup and management of continuous invasive and non‑invasive ventilator systems, specialty gases, and related monitoring.
• Conduct arterial puncture for blood gas analysis (training required).
• Participate in additional subspecialty services (e.g., perinatal/pediatric ventilator systems, bronchoscopy assistance, pulmonary rehabilitation center procedures, RT order entry system operation) as training is completed.

• Schedule patient testing and verify MD orders and diagnosis‑based indications.
• Ensure pre‑test pulmonary history and consent for exercise testing are complete and explain the purpose and side effects to patients.
• Perform pulmonary function tests, exercise tests, and arterial puncture.
• Collate and submit verified results for pulmonologist interpretation.
• Complete and submit patient billings.
• Must be a Certified / Registered Pulmonary Function Tech upon hire with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

• Receive lab specimens from the tube system for analysis.
• Verify and validate patient information on the blood sample.
• Analyze blood samples per department policy and procedure.
• Validate and report critical lab results to providers or nurses.
• Participate in lab correlation and linearity studies required by governing bodies.
• Troubleshoot analyzers and perform minor maintenance when required.
• Perform quality control and proficiency testing sample analysis.
• Adhere to blood gas lab safety and infection control policies.

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred).
• Two (2) years of experience as a respiratory therapist in an acute‑care facility.
• State of California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
