About Us: The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (Cast) is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that is working to put an end to human trafficking through comprehensive, lifesaving services to survivors and a platform to advocate for groundbreaking policies and legislation. Over the past two decades, Cast has supported thousands of survivors through every phase of their journey to freedom from counseling to legal resources, to housing, educational and leadership training, and mentorship.
Through these programs, Cast has helped empower survivors to overcome their traumatic pasts and become leading voices in shaping policy and public awareness to ultimately put an end to the fastest growing criminal enterprise of the 21st century.
The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (Cast) is seeking a part-time contract shelter therapist to provide in-person mental health crisis support and individual therapy to residents of our Hummingbird Haven Emergency Shelter Program and our Mariposa Haven Transitional Shelter Program.
Scope of Work- Conduct individual therapy with shelter residents that are interested
- Provide crisis counseling to shelter residents as needed
- Engage with shelter residents to build rapport and trust
- Provide on-site clinical support in the shelter setting
- Conduct occasional group therapy or workshops
- Consult with the Shelter Program Manager and Shelter Staff as Needed
The Contract Shelter Therapist will report to the Associate Director of Equitable Housing, Rebecca Amado-Sprigg.
Qualifications- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of CA with an Active License
The contracted shelter therapist will be compensated at the rate of $85/hour for client sessions and $75/hour for staff consultations. The contract work is expected to be around 15-20 hours per week.
