Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Optometry Assistant (Optician) to join our mobile eye care team in Los Angeles County. This is a full-time traveling position supporting our optometrists as they provide essential vision care to seniors and underserved communities across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to partner facilities throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area to assist optometrists during patient visits.
  • Prepare exam rooms and organize equipment prior to each clinic day.
  • Support with patient intake, visual screenings, and basic diagnostic testing.
  • Assist with eyewear selection, adjustments, and fittings for patients.
  • Maintain accurate patient and eyewear records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are properly packed, transported, and maintained for each visit.
  • Provide compassionate and professional support to patients and facility staff.
Coverage Area

This position requires regular travel throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan region, spanning from Pasadena in the north to Anaheim in the south, and across all areas in between. Mileage and travel time are reimbursed.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an optician, optometric assistant, or medical/dental assistant preferred.
  • Knowledge of eyewear fitting, frame adjustments, and optical tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel daily to various sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
