Patients feel informed and less anxious before collection.
Specimens are labeled correctly and handled according to office workflow.
The lab area remains stocked, clean, and organized.
Any draw difficulty, delay, or patient concern is communicated promptly.
California phlebotomy certification preferred or required depending on assigned duties.
Prior phlebotomy, lab assistant, medical assistant, or specimen-handling experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail, clean technique, and patient communication.
Comfort working with older adults and patients who may be anxious, dehydrated, or difficult to draw.
Experience with geriatric patients or high-volume clinic lab flow.
Knowledge of specimen labeling, handling, and transport basics.
Bilingual language skills helpful.
Helpful skills include venipuncture, specimen labeling, lab coordination, patient preparation, infection-control awareness, EHR documentation, and calm communication.
