Job DescriptionAs a Fairmont Gold Specialist, show and tell is everything! You will play a key role in the memories the guest experiences during their stay by telling them about the amenities the hotel has to offer and showing them all the options they have to make lasting memories. With attention to detail, you will be able to investigate the reason of the guest’s visit and personalize their stay with Fairmont Century Plaza standards using professionalism and engaging demeanor.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- You genuinely welcome all Fairmont Gold guests at the private entrance, with a smile and by name
- You promptly contact guests, travel agents, or personal assistants from the moment of reservation creation and maintain a continuous line of communication with the guest, acting as their personal assistant
- You ensure the Fairmont Gold inventory is balanced at all times and to inform the Manager of Fairmont Gold immediately if not
- You balance daily arrivals to ensure all guests receive the same level of service and time
- You ensure that all guest billing and credit limit is performed during shift within a timely manner
- You utilize opera to block guest room assignments, update traces, comments and alerts based on guest requests, needs and profile preferences
- You provide full Concierge services, including but not limited to restaurant reservations, golf tee time bookings, car rentals, arranging transportation via various methods, assisting with flights and any guest request within the realm of the job spectrum
- You ensure all complaints are handled in a caring, professional manner, and the appropriate follow-up is taken. Follow up is to be logged and communicated to the Fairmont Gold Manager or MOD
- You maintain open lines of communication with all other hotel departments, especially the Front Desk, Housekeeping, Royal Service, Guest Services and Engineering
- Must be flexible in terms of working hours
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
- Ability to use various computer software
- Stand, walk, and move around during entire shift.
- Demonstrates that all Front Office Standard Operating Policies and Procedures are performed in all interactions
- Maintains a perpetual presence on the Reception Desk throughout the hours of the shift
- Schedule based on Business Demands
- High school diploma
- College degree in Hospitality or Business is an asset
- Luxury Customer Service Experience
- Previous experience within Front Office at a 5-Star Hotel preferred
- Minimum of two year’s work experience at a 5-Star Hotel preferred
- Demonstrated high organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Experience working within a close team environment
- You have strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- You have a ‘can do’ attitude, always ready to problem solve and offer an alternative
- You have the ability to think outside the box and quickly pivot and adjust as necessary
- You have the ability to assist with the overall operation, where required, and ensure that all administrative and operational duties are complete
- You are highly responsible and reliable
- You are computer literate
- You are a strategic with decision making
- You confidently excel at conflict resolution
- You have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
