Monday–Friday (Full-time, hourly non-exempt)

David Kordansky Gallery seeks a highly motivated, extremely organized, and collaborative individual to join our team as Human Resources Coordinator. The Human Resources Coordinator is a critical role, responsible for supporting a range of significant functions of the Management & Administration team, including assisting the Director, Human Resources and Managing Director with all aspects of human resources across the full span of an employee life cycle, such as hiring;

onboarding; employee engagement; and termination. The Human Resources Coordinator also assists with general administrative tasks in support of the Managing Director and the staff as a whole, and with the integration of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives at the gallery. Sensitivity, empathy, accuracy, and discretion will be utilized in every aspect of this role. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and may require flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the gallery.

PRIMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL HR ADMINISTRATION
  • Maintain a basic understanding of state (NY and CA) and federal employment laws
  • Maintain a basic understanding of best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility policies in the workplace
  • Assist with Director, Human Resources’ and Managing Director’s work calendar, scheduling meetings and flagging conflicts or upcoming deadlines
  • Assist with annual review of updates to the Employee Handbook
  • Update and maintain compliance documents and resources as needed
  • Provide payroll support as needed, including assistance with payroll deduction audits
  • Help ensure that all employees have a comfortable, safe, and productive work environment
HIRING & PRE‑EMPLOYMENT
  • Draft and/or update internal job descriptions and external job posts
  • Post position advertisements on job boards; send email outreach to hiring partners
  • Review new applications; analyze candidate data
