Hiring Specialist / Recruiter

Reports To:

Senior HR Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Hiring Specialist / Recruiter to support our growing Human Resources team. This position plays a key role in executing full-cycle recruitment under the direction of the Senior HR Manager, ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional experience for both candidates and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings expertise in talent acquisition, community engagement, and employee development initiatives. This individual will not only help identify and attract top talent but also contribute to the company’s long-term success through talent pipeline development and continuous improvement in training and engagement practices.

Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Candidate Support
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and offers.
  • Partner with the Senior HR Manager to understand hiring needs and align sourcing strategies with department goals.
  • Source and attract qualified candidates through job boards, social media, networking events, and community partnerships.
  • Conduct initial resume reviews and phone screens to assess qualifications and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate interview logistics and ensure timely, professional communication with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and workflows in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Community Engagement & Employer Branding
  • Build and maintain relationships with local colleges, workforce programs, and community organizations to strengthen the company’s talent pipeline.
  • Represent the company at job fairs, networking events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Promote the company’s employer brand through social media, community involvement, and professional partnerships.
Employee Training & Development Recommendations
  • Collaborate with the HR team and department managers to identify skill gaps and recommend relevant training or development programs.
  • Provide feedback from recruitment trends and new-hire experiences to inform future training and retention strategies.
  • Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement and continuous learning across teams.
Hiring Process & Administrative Support
  • Post job descriptions through ADP, Linked In Recruiter, and other platforms.
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, candidate source, and offer acceptance rates.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and state/federal employment laws.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and hiring strategy discussions led by the Senior HR Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • More than 5 years of recruiting experience, preferably in a fast-paced or high-volume environment, with experience recruiting in other states such as NY, GA, IL, TX, WA.
  • Recruiting experience with management and senior level positions.
  • Experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., ADP, Linked In Recruiter).
  • Knowledge of California employment and hiring laws.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable to new recruiting tools and technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive under pressure.
