Overview

Contract Employee Relations Manager
3 days in office

Are you the kind of person who can spot workplace drama before it even brews at the coffee machine? Do friends come to you for advice because you’re equal parts therapist, referee, and problem-solver? If so, we’ve got the perfect role for you.

We’re looking for a Contract Employee Relations Manager to join our People Support Services team. This isn’t your average HR gig—it’s about building trust, keeping things fair, and making sure our culture feels less like red tape and more like belonging. One day you might be coaching a manager through a tricky performance conversation, the next day you’re leading an investigation with fairness and calm, and sometimes you’re simply the steady voice that helps an employee feel heard.

What

You’ll Be Doing
  • Be the go-to person for employee relations issues (yes, even the “my coworker microwaved fish” kind).

  • Investigate workplace concerns with confidentiality, fairness, and a dash of common sense.

  • Coach leaders on performance management, corrective actions, and tough conversations.

  • Partner with our People team to create engagement strategies that build trust, culture, and retention.

  • Champion our ABIDE values (Access, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity)—because we mean it, not because it looks good on a poster.

  • Keep our workplace positive, inclusive, and (mostly) drama-free.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bilingual in Spanish? Amazing. If not, still apply.

  • Solid experience in employee relations, engagement, and conflict resolution (aka you’ve seen some stuff).

  • Knowledge of HR policies and employment law—you can quote compliance without putting people to sleep.

  • Strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in nonprofits is a plus (you already know how to stretch a budget and wear many hats).

  • This is a consulting assignment for up to 3 months. 3 days in office is a must. NO relocation offered. $35-45/hr
