What Will You Be Doing in This Role:

The Senior Windows Platform Engineer role works to ensure that technology services and infrastructure throughout the company operate at peak performance. The role provides technical mentorship and performs the engineering activities required to build, support, automate, and continuously improve a large, sophisticated on-premises and cloud-based computing environment. The Senior Engineer applies standard methodologies for enterprise management, architecture, configuration, disaster recovery, administration, automation, incident management, and operational support.

• Investigate complex system-level early-design engineering proofs of concept and prototypes.
• Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources, including service instances, load balancers, security groups, DNS, certificates, and related services.
• Perform cloud computing environment buildouts, site setup, user training, hardware and software installation, maintenance, support, and documentation of operating procedures and processes.
• Design, configure, implement, and support automated workflows for Windows Server provisioning and post-build configuration, including Power Shell and Desired State Configuration (DSC).
• Develop, test, document, and maintain automation scripts and processes that improve consistency, security, and operational efficiency across the data center.
• Develop and design high-availability solutions and standards. Build and design solutions that mitigate risk and increase efficiency within IT.
• Evaluate and certify hardware platforms for use in a data center environment. Cisco UCS experience is preferred.
• Provide advanced technical support and L3 troubleshooting.
• Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for critical incidents, including P1 support.
• Coordinate with operations, vendors, and manufacturers to restore service and communicate status through resolution.
• Assist with the development and testing of changes needed to maintain the disaster recovery environment.
• Design and implement event automation and event-driven operational workflows to detect, correlate, notify, and remediate infrastructure events.
• Plan and execute Windows Server end-of-life refreshes, including discovery, compatibility assessment, migration or replacement planning, implementation, validation, documentation, and retirement of legacy systems.
• Lead or contribute to server builds and infrastructure architecture, including requirements gathering, standards, capacity planning, high availability, security, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management.
