Pay RangeBase pay: $47,000.00–$ per year. Salary results from a mix of company‑wide totals and individual performance in the role. Additional compensation may include commission and bonus opportunities in line with company policy.

As an Underwriting Trainee in our Environmental Underwriting team, you will:
- Determine whether to write a policy for a given customer.
- Assess what would constitute a fair price for the risk associated with a new policy.
- Develop analytical frameworks and models to forecast environmental and liability exposures.
- Engage customers to understand their needs and develop solutions that protect their goals while protecting the company’s underwriting book.
- Communicate findings and proposed pricing strategies to stakeholders across the business.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with claims, risk science, and product teams to integrate new data and insights into the underwriting process.
- Continuously refine risk‑management solutions based on emerging environmental science and regulatory developments.
- 0‑2 years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Risk Management, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Sustainability, or a comparable discipline.
- Strong analytical, decision‑making, and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for customer service.
- Willingness to complete professional designations and maintain ongoing insurance education.
- Permanent work authorization in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license to travel to client sites.
