A law firm seeks an experienced associate to join its Investment Funds practice group in Los Angeles. This is an exceptional opportunity for attorneys with 4-7 years of experience to work with leading private equity firms and asset managers on a variety of fund formation and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in fund formation, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets, and other corporate transactions, providing comprehensive legal services to clients involved in complex, high-stakes deals.
Duties:
- Advise clients, including private equity firms and asset managers, on the structuring and formation of investment funds.
- Provide legal counsel on GP stakes sales, secondary transactions, and other related corporate matters.
- Manage M&A transactions, capital markets offerings, and other corporate deals within the investment funds sector.
- Collaborate with clients to navigate complex legal issues and structure transactions in alignment with their business objectives.
- Support and mentor junior associates and contribute to team development.
Requirements:
- 4-7 years of experience in a corporate or investment funds practice, with specific expertise in fund formation and M&A.
- Proven experience advising clients on capital markets and secondary transactions.
- Strong understanding of private equity structures and the ability to advise on complex corporate transactions.
- Ability to handle multifaceted matters with a high degree of responsibility and autonomy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong track record of client service and relationship management.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Outstanding academic credentials.
Certifications:
- Admission to the relevant state bar (California) or eligibility to gain admission promptly.
Skills:

- Strong client management and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced understanding of corporate transactional law, with a focus on investment funds, M&A, and capital markets.
