Global Legal Product Counsel – Creator Networks

Responsibilities

Guide the development of global legal initiatives to support the LIVE Creator Network ecosystem. Partner with our product legal team globally, and with regional legal teams who support front-line relationships with Creator Networks. Align with LIVE business teams’ goals, objectives, timing and processes and work cross-functionally to help to support the safe, efficient and scaled growth of Creator Network products and processes.

In particular: ideate new legally compliant strategies to further develop the growth of the LIVE Creator Network ecosystem and build out terms and conditions in support.

• advise Product teams on the application of laws and regulations as they apply to a regulated content platform;
• review new products, features, and initiatives and advise on legal risk mitigation strategies for Tik Tok and other consumer apps;
• draft and maintain online terms related to product initiatives, interfacing with operations teams who develop policies and processes to ope rationalise those terms;
• coordinate cross-functionally with other global and regional legal teams to provide legal guidance, practical solutions and external communications advice, applying and developing your knowledge of employment, privacy, payments, communications, marketing and online safety laws;
• serve as a senior business partner for the Creator Network product team;
• monitor, review and assess new laws that impact content platforms and provide timely advice on their implications to Creator Networks, including stakeholder training;
• assess legal, practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment and provide actionable advice against tight deadlines;
• demonstrate excellent communication skills to distill complex advice for business stakeholders and to update/report effectively to other legal teams and cross-functional colleagues;

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years platform and product experience gained in-house or in a globally recognised law firm.
• Experience in creating globally applicable terms and conditions that support both consumer and commercial applications.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to reach agreed positions swiftly and an ability to take control of matters and drive them forward to conclusion.
• A deep knowledge of the laws that impact user activities on a content platform like Tik Tok and experience in applying those laws in practical situations.
• Strong understanding of laws relating to privacy, payments, electronic communications, employment, online safety, marketing, promotions and reward-based incentives.

• Understanding of platform technology and how it intersects with law and policy.
• Ability to assess legal, practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment to provide actionable advice against tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, able to distill complex advice for business stakeholders and update/report effectively to other legal teams and cross-functional colleagues.
