Position Details

This is an in-office, full-time position.

Responsibilities
  • Handle personal injury case files from start to finish.
  • Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients.
  • Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents.
  • Research case law and premises liability, gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other relevant evidence (preferred experience with Westlaw).
  • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information.
  • Negotiate settlement offers and appropriately settle cases on behalf of clients.
  • Make court appearances at hearings and trials, attend mediations, depositions, and participate in litigation throughout California.
  • Document and update the status of all case files in the case management system (preferred experience with Case Peer).
  • Manage a team of paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretaries.
  • Track work calendars, including appointment and court deadlines pursuant to the California Code of Civil Procedure.
  • Calculate costs and compensation totals to support drafting settlement breakdowns for clients and insurance providers.
  • JD, passed and licensed to practice in California State Bar.
