Warehouse & Supply Operations Specialist
The Warehouse & Supply Operations Specialist supports the depot’s warehouse and supply functions at an off‑site depot in Los Angeles, California. The role involves receiving, inspecting, storing, transporting, and issuing equipment, materials, and supplies for both civilian and military customers on a planned four‑day, 10‑hour shift schedule.
Responsibilities- Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and invoices; compile data on quantity, quality, and type of material received; identify irregularities and reject defective parts as necessary.
- Make storage decisions considering temperature, humidity, weight, height, turnover rates, floor loading capacity, and space requirements; keep items labeled and organized for efficient retrieval.
- Fill orders and requisition stock to meet incoming demand; prepare inventory records and stock‑usage reports; investigate any count discrepancies.
- Coordinate with freight carriers and maintain direct interaction with customers, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills within a joint‑venture environment that blends two corporate cultures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for management while prioritizing tasks in a fast‑paced setting.
- Generally 3+ years of related experience; post‑secondary degree (not required) or relevant training.
- 3–5 years of experience with Supply Support / Stock Control.
- 3–5 years of experience in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).
- 3–5 years of experience interfacing with a variety of information technology logistics applications.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Prior warehousing experience, including operating a forklift or pallet stacker, 3–5 years.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Ability to pass a post‑offer pre‑employment physical.
- Effective work in a high‑paced team environment.
- Ability to multitask and establish priorities to meet contractual requirements/metrics.
- Ability to work in a cross‑functional depot environment.
- Ability to interact with internal customers, cross‑functional teams, and management.
- Self‑starter capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills; effective work within a diverse workforce.
- Knowledge of Asset Management System / Supply Chain Operations / Unified Tracking System.
- Familiarity with Army regulations and Army supply.
- Prior internship or equivalent experience with DoD contractor or government agency.
- Basic understanding of government supply operations.
