Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead life sciences, pharmaceutical, and biotech construction projects in the Southern California area. The role requires expertise in complex, technical facilities, including labs, research centers, and manufacturing spaces, ensuring they meet strict safety, regulatory, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing ground‑up and renovation projects for the life sciences sector, coordinating MEP‑intensive environments, and leading teams in fast‑paced, high‑stakes construction.
- Oversee all phases of life sciences construction, ensuring project objectives, safety, and compliance standards are met.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to maintain workflow efficiency and adhere to project schedules.
- Develop and implement detailed construction schedules, site logistics plans, and sequencing strategies for MEP‑heavy environments.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA, and local building codes.
- Conduct daily site inspections, enforce quality control measures, and resolve field challenges proactively.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Regulatory Authorities to ensure seamless execution.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to lab environments, clean rooms, containment areas, and sensitive research spaces.
- Maintain comprehensive site reports, daily logs, and safety documentation.
- Lead and mentor on‑site teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
- 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or high‑tech construction.
- Proven expertise in MEP coordination, clean room construction, structural steel, and critical utility systems.
- Strong knowledge of safety compliance, GMP/FDA requirements, and controlled environment construction.
- Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills in highly regulated construction environments.
- In‑depth understanding of OSHA regulations, hazardous materials handling, and commissioning processes.
- Background in life sciences, healthcare, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing projects.
- Strong knowledge of process piping, HVAC, clean room classifications, and containment requirements.
- Ability to manage fast‑track, high‑tech projects while maintaining precision and quality.
